## Why Your Take-Home Pay Shows Zero Tax

Saudi Arabia does not levy a personal income tax on salaries. For expatriate employees, what you earn as your gross salary is exactly what you keep as your net take-home pay, resulting in SAR 0 tax deduction.

While there are no tax bands, there are specific mandatory contributions depending on your nationality. Saudi nationals and other GCC nationals are required to contribute to the General Organization for Social Insurance \(GOSI\). For Saudi nationals, the contribution rate for the Annuities Branch is 18% of the contributory wage, of which 9% is paid by the employer and 9% is paid by the employee. Expatriate employees do not pay social security contributions.

Instead of a pension, expatriate employees are entitled to an End-of-Service Gratuity — a lump-sum benefit paid by the employer at the end of the employment contract, based on the final basic salary and years of service. This is a terminal benefit and not a monthly deduction from your salary.
