## How Philippines Taxes Your Income

The Philippines taxes income progressively across six bands \(ranging from an exempt band up to 35%\). From your gross pay, mandatory employee deductions are subtracted to arrive at your final take-home pay. 

These mandatory contributions include Pag-IBIG \(HDMF\), PhilHealth, and SSS \(Social Security System\).

#### What are the mandatory salary deductions in the Philippines?

As a salaried employee in the Philippines, your mandatory deductions include your personal Income Tax, as well as contributions to three key government agencies: SSS \(Social Security System\) for private employees or GSIS for government employees, PhilHealth \(National Health Insurance Program\), and Pag-IBIG \(Home Development Mutual Fund\). 

#### Are there any tax-exempt income thresholds in the Philippines?

Yes. Under the TRAIN Law, individuals earning an annual taxable income of ₱250,000 or below are exempt from paying personal income tax. 

#### Does the calculator compute 13th-month pay?

This calculator estimates standard net take-home pay on your base salary. By law, the 13th-month pay \(and other benefits\) up to a maximum of ₱90,000 is tax-exempt. The calculator does not currently include this tax-exempt bonus in your regular monthly or annual take-home figures.
